Best season to elope in the lake region is in the summer months. From mid May to mid October. Due to popularity Lake Como can get very crowded from July to September, but there are options. The northern region includes the most beautiful lakes in Italy. Such as Lake Maggiore and Lake Garda. Only 1.5 hours by car and less than 2 hours by train from Milan.

You may be familiar with glamorous Lake Como but less crowded Lake Maggiore and Lake Garda offer equally stunning scenery.
If you prefer the coastal Mediterranean Sea, then I would recommend the stunning Amalfi Coast and Portofino.
